Meeting Summary: Mirror Art - Online Sharing Session on Endoscopic Spine Technology at Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital (Session 6)
2024-09-27
On September 27, 2024, the "Endoscopic Art - Online Sharing Conference on Spinal Endoscopy Technology (Session 6)" was successfully held, hosted by the Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital and co-organized by the Spindos Academy. The conference was chaired by Professor Jiang Yue from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital, with Professor Yu Bin serving as the executive chairman. Many experts and scholars from across the country gathered to exchange the latest research results and clinical experiences in spinal endoscopy technology, providing strong support for the further development and application of this technology.
"Endoscopic Art" is a series of academic activities jointly created by Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital and Spindos Academy, focusing on the application of spinal endoscopy technology. With the continuous development of medical technology, spinal endoscopy has been widely used in the field of spinal surgery as a minimally invasive treatment method. This technology has the advantages of minimal trauma, quick recovery, and fewer complications, which is of great significance for improving patients' quality of life and reducing medical costs.
Professor Yu Bin from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital delivered the opening speech for this conference. Professor Yu welcomed the enthusiastic participation of online experts and colleagues, thanked Spindos Academy for providing a platform for communication, and expressed gratitude to all the experts and professors for taking the time to share their knowledge despite their busy schedules. He welcomed online colleagues to ask questions and discuss. Director Yu warmly introduced the expert colleagues who were giving lectures, including Professor Zhu Bin from Beijing Friendship Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University, Professor Jiang Xiaobing from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, and Professor Tian Xiaodong from Jinzhou Second Hospital. The conference also invited Professor Yao Yong from Northeast International Hospital and Professor Yu Jiaxin from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital to share exciting case studies. Additionally, Professor Yao Xiaosheng from Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Professor Wang Qi from the Northern Theater General Hospital were specially invited to host the conference. It is believed that this conference will achieve positive academic effects. We hope to learn from many fellow physicians, exchange ideas, and make progress together to benefit more patients.
Special Lecture
Professor Zhu Bin from Beijing Friendship Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University shared "Standardized Surgical Tutorial for Full Endoscopic Lumbar Intervertebral Foramen Surgery."
Professor Jiang Xiaobing from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University shared "Insights on Related Modifications of Uniaxial Spinal Endoscopy Technology."
Professor Tian Xiaodong from Jinzhou Second Hospital shared "How to Treat Old Lumbar Fractures in the Elderly."
Case Sharing
Professor Yao Yong from Northeast International Hospital shared "A Case of Infection After UBE Surgery."
Professor Yu Jiaxin from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital shared "ACDF Assisted by Endoscopy."
Surgical Live Broadcast
Professor Yu Bin from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital conducted a surgical live broadcast. The case was diagnosed as L5S1 lumbar spinal stenosis, and the procedure was a dual-channel lumbar spinal canal enlargement surgery based on spinal endoscopy. During the surgery, Director Yu used the SPINENDOS 4.3-181 spinal endoscope to perform the dual-channel surgery, completing the canal enlargement in less than an hour. Director Yu stated that the dual-channel surgery based on spinal endoscopy not only has the advantage of quickly processing bony tissue with the external ring saw used in spinal endoscopy but also perfectly fits the size of the spinal endoscope with the Donghong Zhiyuan hollow drill. The ring saw protective sleeve effectively protects soft tissue, allowing for safe and efficient processing of bony tissue under visualization. Additionally, the dual-channel surgery can utilize open surgical instruments, making the use of instruments more flexible. The operation channel and observation channel can be switched at any time according to needs. During the surgery, Director Yu used the 2.0mm bone biting forceps from Donghong to handle bony tissue, making the surgical operation flexible and efficient, significantly shortening the surgical time, which has great advantages for handling stenosis cases.
Conference Summary
Professor Jiang Yue from Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital summarized the conference, thanking Spindos Academy for providing the communication platform and the experts and professors from within and outside the province for sharing their latest research results and standardizing spinal endoscopy operations. He hopes to discuss more possibilities of spinal endoscopy with more colleagues in the future, learning and progressing together.
The successful convening of this conference helps strengthen academic exchanges among experts in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery and promotes the vigorous development of minimally invasive spinal surgery. The original intention of the Endoscopic Art series of activities is to provide a platform for communication and interaction, facilitating participating experts to discuss the development of the orthopedic industry, exploring the relationship between heaven and man, understanding the changes of ancient and modern times, gathering the strengths of various schools, and sharing common aspirations. Participants gather here to discuss academics, develop together, and create a better future.
